Tire Coupons

A few months ago I got a flat and I wished that when I was at the repair shop I had a few tire coupons that I could use to save money. One blown tire ended up costing me over $250 to replace on my wife’s new Mazda CX7. I felt like I was being raked over the coals when he told me what they would cost. I have a family with small children that I want to be safe. I know that your tires are the first things that impacts driving conditions, literally where the rubber meets the road. I didn’t want to go with a cheap brand of tire that I had never heard of. Since this was our primary vehicle to transport our family, I knew I had to buy something reputable and safe. After dropping the $250 on a new tire, yes I said one tire, I decided to do a little research to see if any discounts or coupons were offered in the tire industry. What I found was somewhat amazing.

Most tire companies don’t directly offer coupons, however they do have special deals that you can take advantage of if you do your research ahead of time. Getting discounts on tires is all about preparation and sticking with it. The two biggest brands of tires, Good Year and Firestone have a fairly large web presence online. By visiting their site you can view all current promotions and sign up to have them email you directly when they’re running specials.

A few months later my wife picked up a nail when driving back from picking the kids up from school. A light went on in the car indicating there was an issue with the tire pressure. There was no noticeable deflation but we decided to take the car in to Firestone just in case. They ran their diagnostic tool on the vehicle and found out that we did in fact have a small leak in the right front tire. My wife and I looked at each other in amazement as this was the exact tire that we had to get replaced just a few weeks prior. It was like we must have just run into a bad string of luck. Fortunate for us we had printed out a few tire coupons which we got off their company website. We ended up saving $12 on that visit which cut the cost of the repair in half.

Some of the other special offers you can come to expect to find online when looking for tire coupons are oil change discounts, wheel alignment discounts and percentages off maintenance services. If you regularly service your car there is no reason to not take advantage of these savings. Car repair shops, tire stores, muffler places, and oil change shops are a dime a dozen. They’re all competing for your business. I found that by printing tire coupons I could save money on a wide variety of other automotive service needs. I even became friends with the local store manager who now knows me by name and thanks me for my business each time I visit. Do yourself a favor, print out a few tire coupons and keep them with you. You never know when you’ll get your next flat and will wish you had taken my advice.
